Q. Is the Library giving away solar eclipse glasses?

On August 21, 2017, we will be treated to the first total eclipse of the sun visible in the continental United States in almost 40 years.

We have distributed our entire stock of solar eclipse glasses, over 21,000 pairs! We will have a small amount (approximately 50 pairs) available at each branch on the day of the eclipse, August 21.

If you would like to purchase solar eclipse glasses, click here to view a list of organizations that have them for sale.

Please visit our online events calendar for more information and to sign up for one of our many Eclipse related programs.

If you would like to learn more about the eclipse, visit the St. Louis Solar Eclipse Task Force's site, which rounds up a lot of information about the eclipse in the local area. http://www.missourieclipse2017.com/
